Stralsund and other things

We had a great time in Stralsund on the Baltic Coast. It was really good to get away, have some sleep, be in a new place. We looked back on the last semester and forward to the new one, and I found it really exciting, as we have lots of new things planned, and I am going to be really busy and have lots organised up until July. Yay.
We went on the regional train up there. It took three hours but they have these great tickets in Germany which means if you travel on regional (rather than fast) trains, lots of you can travel together for cheaper. On the way it was extremely foggy, and it reminded that in big city (though rarely bustling) Berlin, you've got everything, but Germany as a whole is a lot more rural than I am used to. There was so much dull, fairly flat countryside, and seen with loads of fog around it, it looked really unattractive. One place was aptly called 'Grimmen'. Haha, it was very grim ;)
But Stralsund was a beautiful (though very empty) place. We spent some time by the harbour, which was practically all ice (though I did dip my toes in). We also put on face masks (see photo) and watched all three Lord of the Rings films. On the Sunday, we went to church, which was really nice, quite like a service at my Baptist church in Watford. It reminded me again how unlike Berlin much of the rest of the country is... in Berlin churches can be quite weird... but this one was better, really friendly, active, etc.

This week I have been pretty busy so far, seeing people, going to meetings, baking cakes, etc. The other day there was a beautiful sunset, and I thought the weather might be improving, but it was snowing again today when I went out at 7.30am for a walk... :)
I am also writing an essay for a correspondence course I am doing on Biblical inerrancy and infallibility. I was meant to write it ages ago, but I have been quite distracted. But my mum said I must write it before I go to England (this Friday), so I hope that today is the day - although I am going out later (the problem is I never have a concentrated enough period of time). Anyway that does lead me to say- I am in England next week, and will probably not blog. I am doing a runaway tour of the country, starting off in Sheffield, then going to Leeds, then Cambridge, then Watford, then Cambridge again. It is both a holiday and a work tour, but it should be fun!
