Job Description: Yoh has an opportunity for a Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our customer in Greenville, SC. Position Overview: Must have 25-30 years of experience in Transmission Lines in the Power arena. VERY high-profile, high-visibility with the customer. Will serve as an ambassador for the company with its future Power clients Must be able to do presentations in front of clients, etc and have total knowledge, confidence, and experience in this area. Must come in to mentor and lead. Experience in Project Management is a plus. Must know all aspects of projects; cab be focused on Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural. Will form a group here to come up with a program. Design, go out and construct, and handle all commissioning. Duties and Responsibilities: Full range of experience with selecting phase conductors and shield wires for all load and environmental considerations Sag and tension calculations Selecting structure types, heights, and strengths Specifying appropriate foundations Selecting transmission line hardware and insulators Specifying guying requirements Determining appropriate lighting protection Applying fiber optics, microwave, GPS, etc. Proper tower location selection within available right-go-way Applying NESC and utility construction standards General knowledge of protective relaying and applications Preparing and assembling permitting packages related to railroad, highways, waterways, corp. of Engineers waterways, pipelines, environmental, and wetlands, airport/aviation, etc. Working knowledge of PLS- CADD, EMTP, PSSE, and PSLF Accomplished communications and presentation skills- needs to be on the forefront of the early business development efforts Job Requirements: Skills and Abilities: Supervision of design team Construction interface and oversight experience Demonstrated presentation skills Minimum Education and Experience: BSEE, BSME, or BS Civil Registered PE via exam in South Carolina or ability to obtain via comity within two months of hire 20+ years experience in all aspects of transmission line design engineering and construction Discover all that's possible with Yoh Engineering.
