Resources update:
- EBSCOHost is our primary database provider. The newest additions to the EBSCO family of databases at Wheaton are Philosopher's Index and Christian Periodical Index. Once in the EBSCO system, you will find all of our databases under the "Choose Databases" tab. If it's appropriate for your search, you can select
as many as you want (by checking the box) and execute a single search across them all. Separate links to these will be available soon in our database list. In the meantime, you can find them listed in the complete EBSCOHost database list.
- Wheaton benefits once again from its membership in CARLI, the premier Illinois State consortium for academic and research libraries. This time it comes in the form of additional access to full text journals through Wiley Interscience (WI). Wiley is a big publisher of scientific journals. Many of these titles are too pricey for Wheaton to subscribe to on its own, but Wiley agreed to allow the CARLI schools to share each others access, bringing the total number of WI journal titles (for Wheaton) from a handful to almost 300.
- Even more recently Wiley acquired another big journal publisher, Blackwell, making Wiley Interscience one of largest single gateways to academic literature on all subjects with around 3 million articles in 1400 journals. Wiley Interscience will be added soon to our database list as well. You can enjoy the access now (from a networked computer on campus) by going to the Wiley site.
